You can drive from Tartu to Pärnu directly.

there are 2 possible route:

1. Tartu-Rõngu-Pikasilla-Tõrva-Pärnu

2. Tartu-Viljandi-Pärnu

Both are approx. 190km.

Well I fly to Europe on the 5th of July and hit Lativa on the 9th, where I will spend a bit of time, before arriving at Tartu for the weekend with everyone here.

Then I need to get to Parnu on the 16th, but I cant find a direct rout, does anyone know of one, or do I need to go to Tallinn then to Parnu?

Also, could I get a few ideas for what I should expect regarding accommodation in Tartu on Sat and Sun night, hotel, hostel, camp (I have no gear) or fall over dunk?

Thank you and see you all soon.
Don't worry, there is a very nice road from Tartu to Pärnu, approximately 175 km. From Tartu you have to ride towards Viljandi and then right before entering Viljandi, turn left towards Pärnu. It is a small intersection few hundred meters before a gas station.
I'm sure you will find some guys to give you a good advise during Estonian Bike Weekend in Tartu.

Does anyone have any ideas regarding accomodation for the biker weekend?

we do - sleeping bag and a tent :P
If that's not ok, Tartu is full of accomodations, not too expensive

I finally made it to Estonia, I am currently in Parnu. What a lovely place it is here, so green compared to back home where we are in drought.

A quick question, is it possible to walk from the main area of Tartu to where the bike weekend is being held?

And if you see a tourist (I will be standing out like dog's balls), its probably me, so come over and say g'day. I can talk to you about Aust or super motards, both of which are interesting.....I think.

YEs, it possible. From city centre (Raekoja Plats) about 2,2km to Tartu Fair area (Tartu Näitused).

Here is a map. "60" is place where you want to go. City centre is in right lower area. Just extend yellow street named "Jakobi" to map right edge and there is centre of Tartu.

Also, there is possible to go with bus 6a. Stop in centre must be somewhere in front of "Tartu Kaubamaja". And be sure about right direction - uphill. In stop "Tartu Näitused" you must leave.

If you would like to meet bikers in Pärnu then you should visit Port Artur’s parking lot (it’s in the city center, just across the bus station) tomorrow evening around 20:00 to 22:00. Most of Pärnu bikers gather there every Thursday evening. Last week there where about 40 bikes.

Regards,
Rene

Last week there was 40 bikers (men and women) on their bikes, but also there were many bikers without their bikes who just wanted to spend some time with other bikers...so, it would not be strange to be there without your bike...

haha, I wish. I am not sure that anyone would be too happy to lend me their bike to do wheelies, as their is a high probability that I will crash it.

I will do my best to be at the car park. I went past it today, so at least I know where it is.

Well I managed to meet some Pärnu bikers today and I was extra happy to see some super moto bikes, especially the Husaberg FS650 (which is my bike back home). It was quite a good turnout, with a wide range of bikes.

Good on you guys :bsmile:
