Hey Soul, I will hopefully have the chance to check your statement. And run for cover if this is not true.

Ok, we had beer and sausages. What's up now? ;)
What about women? No, bad theme. I'm married. ;)

Can you recommend interesting websites about Estonia, motorbike meeting points, what is absolutely recommended to visit if there?

Hey uwe

How much time you think you´ll going to have to visit Estonia. As i mentioned before, we have lots to see in here and things what you can see depends lots of how much time you´ll going to have. Hmm but i have to say, if you have been in Estonia without seeing Taevaskoja, you haven´t been in here at all. This is at least my point of view.
Btw, estonian women are not bad topic, if you come here, you will see, why I say so

Cheers
Soul

VB, thanks for the hint. I will have a look at this site next weekend.

Soul, momentarily I don't have a concrete plan for this trip. Moved through some sites with travel reports and found that it should take about 4 days to reach Talinn. Maybe one additional day to visit Königsberg (Kaliningrad?) and about 5 days to get back home on another route through the Masuren (East Poland). So this is a trip of 10 days plus one day for unpredictable events. 17 days is the maximum, I have to reserve some other leave days. Otherwise my wife won't let me in when I come back. ;)
This means a maximum of 6 days to spend in Estland. What do you think, is this real?

Hi Uwe

With 6 days you can see a lot.... Basically one can take a very fast tour around Estonia in 3 days and see most of our most beautiful sights...but that means that you can't stop and enjoy when you want to. So 6 days is a very good amount of time and when you plan yóur visit well, you'll see a lot of beautiful places and nice people :). Any way we can help, just let us know, ok?

Zeek,
travelled around estonia with different foreign friends...

Hey uwe

My oppinion is, we better should take out some (2 or 3) places from Estonian map, what you should defenitely see and you vistit them and can enjoy them, if you have 6 days and wish to see everything in here, then it won´t be vacation but rally and if you like here you can always come back ans see other places.

Hi Uwe

No snow, roads are fine and dry. Temperature above 0. But the weather forecast promises rain and wet snow for the rest of the week. But no-one says there's still gonna be a proper winter. Actually - we have had no "winter" this year.... unusually warm and almost no snow. I at least am the one who won't cry if the winter really doesn't come but instead comes an early and beautiful spring ;). At least we have had some beautiful cruising weather and quite many bikers have digged aout their bikes from winter sheds.... and a lot more are thinking whether they should do the same...

Zeek

P.S. Good for me I have 2 bikes, one with a sidecar so I can (and do)drive with any kind of weather :P

Now we don't have snow, it's raining and weather is like in October!
I don't like it so much because I prepared for winter riding (tyres etc.) :-)
Not so much winter riding since (about 1500 km).

Hey folks,

haven't been here for some weeks. Sorry for late answer, too much happened.
Well, meanwhile we had enough winter. Lots of snow and really cold, but since last week it smells like spring. ;)
Made some 1600km's with my cow in this year. Makes a lot of fun and now I wait for all the planned tours.

Keep the rubber side down

Hei Uwe!

> Can you recommend interesting websites about Estonia, motorbike

What about your interests?

Well, Estonia is small - all is smaller ;) Only few hours from north to south by road, no highways, no high mountains, roads are mostly bumpy, climate is mostly #¤%& But here we have “real” forests, islands, gravelroads if you want and tons of nice places, buildings etc.

Basically, with some few hints:
South, south-east especially - interesting landscape - not flat, many curves, gravel roads are real good for enduros (Taevaskoja – valley of river Ahja, Piusa, Otepää...)
East: Tartu, coast of lake Peipsi and villages, fishers handmade machines for winterfishing ;)
North-east: old (soviet) heawy-industrial area. Interesting underground mining-museum (http://www.kaevanduspark.ee/), soviet architectural culture from sixties.
North: nice coastline and limestone bluff (Ontika), Old city of Tallinn
North-west: Paldiski – for years closed military city of russian navy
West: islands of course! Saaremaa, Hiiumaa

Hei Guest with no name ;)

thank you very much for your extensive informations. Very interesting.
I am still collecting.
Last days in central Europe were not made for bikers. Cold and rainy, good to stay in bed. :-)
I hope you have better conditions.

Hi folks,

now summer has come over central Europe, but much too much of it. Yesterday I came back from my second trip through northern Italy and the Alps, it was even warm on an altitude of 2600m. ;-) Not to talk about the valleys, we had more than 40 degrees beside Bozen.

But there is nothing to complain, it was a great time. If some of you need infos about points of interest, lodging or whatsoever, just ask.

Uwe
